Homer was born in south-west Essex.[citation needed] She joined Topshop in 1985.[3]

Jane Shepherdson left her position as the managing director of Topshop in 2007. Homer, who was the commercial director, and Karyn Fenn, the buying director, assumed the responsibilities of running the stores as joint managing directors. Subsequently, in 2007, Karyn Fenn departed from Topshop, leading to Homer becoming the sole managing director. Following her tenure at Topshop, Homer assumed the role of Chief Executive Officer at The White Company, where her responsibilities include overseeing homewares and fashion, as well as driving international expansion efforts.[4] [5] [6] [7]

From 2008 to 2010 she was on the board of the British Fashion Council.[8]
