London Grammar is an English indie rock trio, formed by Hannah Reid, Dot Major and Dan Rothman.[1][2] Their debut EP Metal & Dust was released in February 2013 by Metal & Dust Recordings Ltd.[3]
Vocalist Hannah Reid and guitarist Daniel Rothman met while in first-year halls of residence at Nottingham University in 2009, when Rothman saw a picture of Reid on Facebook with a guitar and messaged her to see if she wanted to jam. They added multi-instrumentalist (keyboard, djembe, drums) Dot Major, and began playing low-key gigs – “to about five people”, according to Rothman – in local bars. The trio posted debut single Hey Now online in December, and it’s since racked up over a million online plays.
Their EP Metal & Dust followed in February, and it made the top five of the iTunes chart in Australia. Since then, they've recorded two live sessions for Radio 1, and this summer they’ll play a whopping 10 European festivals. They released their single "Wasting My Young Years" in June 2013, peaking to number 31 on the UK Singles Chart.
