Manahil is anxious for her exam result and visits her best friend Rabiya "Beya" to pay respects on Hazrat Shah Molana Muhammad Ruknuddin Naqshbandi tomb for her results. Rabiyas brother Salah-ul-din who also tutor her, takes them to tomb. Rabiya passes the exam with ace grades, but Manahil fears to check her results. Salah-ul-Din ask Rabiya to check Manahil's results but she found out that she fails, meanwhile Manahil came to Rabiyas home to check her results only to found out that she has failed. Saddened by her results she furiously runs to home and lock herself. Her father consoles her and told her that he will ask Salah-ul-Din for tution to which she denies saying "he is strict." Later, Salah-ul-Din reluctantly agrees to teach Mannu despite his hectic schedule. Unbeknownst to Manahil a proposal came for her which she thinks is for her aunt's daughter Sarah and went to Rabiya's home asking her for a sweet dish. She gave her homework to Salah-ul-din, where he scolds her for doing the questions wrong.

Manahil gets angry to know, that proposal came for her and fights with Salah-ul-Din for not telling her. Rabiya confront Salah-ul-Din that he "loves" Manahil to which he responds that they will never accept this relation due to their social class difference. Manahil parents refuse the Mikaeel's proposal. Salah-ul-Din tries to make Manahil understand that due to their social difference he cannot marry her and her parents will not accept their relation. Rabiya ask Salah-ul-Din to ask their parents for this proposal before anyone else gets to know about them. Unknown to Sarah, she teases Manahil about Salah-ul-Din for not calling him "Bhai". Later, Salah-ul-Din told his mother about Manahil and him, and ask her for their proposal, stunned to this confession she reluctantly agrees. Sarah confronts Manahil and warns her that their family will never accept her relation with Salah-ul-Din. Meanwhile, Salah-ul-Din father ask him to stop tutoring Manahil.

Salah-ul-Din father's rejects the proposal and tells him that this is their infancy. Manahil parents finds out about them and whole family dispute over whether Salah-ul-Din is worthy of Manahil or not. Later, Manahil's father Javed and her uncle Ameen reluctantly agrees despite their reservations over Salah-ul-Din. However, Manahil's aunt Saliha and her mother persistently rejects this proposal as they don't think Salah-ul-Din would make a suitable life partner. Salah-ul-Din reassures his parents that Manahils will be happy with him and they went to Manahil's house. There they find everyone standing at the doorsills and without saying Sala-ul-Din and his parents returns as his father understands that her father wants to reject the proposal but couldn't due to their friendship. Devastated with the situation Manahil runs for Salah-ul-Din but her father stops her and tells her that she can go and "if they accept her", he will agree to this proposal, albeit to which he knew that they will not accept her.

Manahil comes back to her house after facing rejection from Salah-ul-Din's house and tells her father that she will never forgive Salaha-ul-Din for not accepting her. Manahil's father accept Mikaeel's proposal, while Salah-ul-Din received a job in his friends firm in Karachi. Manahil agree to marry Mikaeel in exchange for Sarah to be sent home to her husband. Manahil ask Mikaeel for Salah-ul-Din consent for their marriage, and they went to his home. Heavy hearted he ask Mikaeel to take care of her. Later, Mikaeel ask her mother to refuse this proposal. Manahil's father meets Salah-ul-Din and tell him that he is "best" choice for Manahil but he want's better for her daughter and ask him to meet Mikaeel to inquire about him and his character.

Salah-ul-Din meets Mikaeel and both share their thoughts over Manahil. After Mikaeel's approval marriage, preparations of marriage begans. While Salah-ul-Din calls Manahil one last time before going to Karachi, where she express her love for him and he ask her to meet and she secretly escapes. Salah-ul-Din tries to make her understand that this marriage will bring good to her and both reconcile their memories. Manahil disappearance cause panic in the house where Javed calls Salah-ul-Din parents and accused them for this act. Stunned to the situation, Shahid gets to know that both are together and ask them to get home. Upon reaching Manahil reveals that it was her idea to meet "one last" time before marriage and defend Salah-ul-Din. Manahil father ask Salah-ul-Din to never come back.

Salah-ul-Din reached Karachi and sees his friend Ifti and his wife estranged behaviour towards him. While talking to Salah-ul-Din, Ifti assume that he would know about his salary (which he is paying him less), if he lives outside and interacts with other employes and decided to offer him to live with them, despite her wife concerns. On the other hand, Manahil struggles and suffers in silence with her marriage as Mikaeel is more interested in spending his life alone rather than to be with someone. Manahil make an effort to adjust with Mikaeel and ask him to go out with him at his friends but he refused due to her senile fashion-style. Salah-ul-Din try to move out of his friend house when he questioned by Cookie to do his chores own his own and keep distance from Ifti. After being left alone in the house she call Mikaeel who was busy in party. She later calls Salah-ul-Din.

Salah-ul-Din tells Manahil that they should not talk to each other and he needs to move forward for his career. Manahil change her appearance to please Mikaeel, while Salah-ul-Din sees Manahil in her new avatar and feels guilty. Salah-ul-Din meets Rehman who is terminally ill and is treated very carelessly by his son Ifti and wife Cookie, particularly by their servant Jameel. Manahil attend a party with Mikaeel and finds out about Mikaeel drinking and smoking. He scold her for being a typical wife and ask his parents that he cannot live with her. Later, Cookie confronts Salah-ul-Din for telling her husband about his father being treated poorly and accuse him of creating misunderstandings among them. Manahil try to adapt the environment of Mikaeels life and gave up her old accessories including her lifestyle. Salah-ul-Din and Rehman gets to know each other and develop a close bond. Manahil is adjusting with his new lifestyle while her parents in laws are in surprise to see her developing the lifestyle of Meekail.

Mikaeel ask Manahil to do house chores, along her social life with him. Cookie and Jameel mistreat Rehman while Salah-ul-Din try to help. Mikaeel mother apologize to Manahil for Mikaeel behaviour and habits, when she caught Manahil asking her money for Mikaeel. Manahil promise her to change Mikaeel. Salah-ul-Din stops Cookie and Jameel for selling Rehman's books and Ifti sees the whole scene which in turn was actually a orchestrated act to turned Ifti against Salah-ul-Din. Later, Rehman apologize for Cookies behaviour and ask him to leave the house for better. Manahil try to convince Mikaeel to go to office with his father, to which he scold her. Before leaving the house, Salah-ul-Din went to see Rehman and found him unconscious.

After seen Rehman condition and knowing that he has cancer, Salah-ul-Din decided to stay to take care of him but Ifti denies, however his wife agrees and gave all responsibilities of Rehman to him. Manahil went to her home for the first time after marriage, where her father realises that she is not happy and ask her to come back and forgive him but she refuses saying that she has a responsibility now and she cannot come back now. Salah-ul-Din and Rehman grow closer to each other which upset Iftis' wife Cookie. Salah-ul-Din gets to knows about Manahil being in Hyderabad from Rabiya. Manahil visits Rabiya and lies about his life that she is very happy tells her about new life. Mikaeel fights with his friend for money, after losing all in gambling, while gets irritated after being continuously asked about Mikaeel.

Rehman ask Jameel not to give any money to Salah-ul-Din for his medicine. Mikaeel's friend Bari informs his father about his debt and is confronted by his mother which led to a fight between him and Bari. Rehman refuse to take any medicine from Jameel saying he knows the truth. Later, Rabiya informs Salah-ul-Din about Manahil and he ask to keep her happy. Rehman tries to make Salah-ul-Din understand about his love for Manahil, and ask him to go to her. Manahil's family plans' to invite Mikaeel, where he miss behaves with Manahil's father. Salah-ul-Din finds out that Rehman is skipping his medicine to commit suicide and finds Rehman unconscious. Mikaeel went into another gambling-debt of twenty-lakhs and loses his car. Salah-ul-Din and Jamil, takes Rehman and rushes to hospital, while Iftis' wife sees them and accuse Salah-ul-Din for stealing car, Iftis' chases them and wind up knowing about the truth. Where Salah-ul-Din ask warns Ifti, that he better pray for his father's life.

Ifti make amends to his father and realize his wife's motives. Mikaeel's father threatens to disown him, where Cookie apologize to Rehman on request of Ifti. Rabiya informs Salah-ul-Din that Manahil is getting divorce and tells him about Mikaeel behavior with her. Sla-ul-Din bids farewell to Rehman to meet Manahil. He apologizes to his father and both reconcile. Where, in fear of disownment Mikaeel faked to agree to go to office. Still in debt and due to shortage of time he thinks of selling Manahil jewellery, and went to bring back Manahil. Manahil confront Salah-ul-Din for leaving her in first place and ask him to let her go and face her life. She tells her that she will not leave Mikaeel.

Manahil parents are surprised to see sudden change in Mikaeel's personality, however Manahil gets suspicious and finds out the real reason. She helped Mikaeel in getting her jewelry from his mother in hope that he will leave his gambling habit. Salah-ul-Din reached Karachi and finds about Rehman death. Jameel apologize for his behaviour and gave him a file that Rehman asked Jameel to give Salah-ul-Din before his death. He finds out that Reham has left him a four-thousand-guz plot in DHA, Karachi. Salah-ul-Din ask Jameel to live with him, when he knows about that he have left Ifti's house after Rehman's death. Mikaeel misbehaves with father and blame Manahil for telling them about jewelry, Shahab ask Mikaeel to leave the house. Mikaeel went to stay at his friend home who advise him to go back and lure his father in order to get all the property on his name.

Mikaeel follow his friends instructions and came home to lure his father but couldn't get him impress. Mikaeel tells Manahil that he has no intentions of reuniting with his family or her. His friend then asked him to fathered a child to divert the attention and to attain all the property and control over business. After one year Manahil gave birth to a child, despite Mikaeel's contumelious behaviour. Salah-ul-Din becomes a successful businessmen but still loves Manahil. He with his family shifts in Karachi in a home given by Rehman. Manahil and her family suspects Salah-ul-Din success and presume that it's all black-money. Rabiya and his mother came to see Manahil to congratulate of becoming a mother, but Manahil return all the gifts to Rabiya and gold-chain (that Salah-ul-Din sent) saying that he doesn't want anything from her brother and he is dead to her. Later, series took another leap of three-years with Manahil pregnant with her second child. Mikaeel becomes more aggressive and unresponsive towards her and children and sleeps in a separate room. When confronted by his mother, he shows no remorse of his wrongdoings.

Rabiya got married and shifts to America with her husband. Jeena became more obsessed with Salah-ul-Din and secretly watches him. Salah-ul-Din together with Jameel keeps track of Mikaeel activities and watch over Manahil. Mikaeel abuses Manahil and locked her up in a room when she finds out about that he has started gambling again. Salah-ul-Din becomes worried when Manahil didn't show up for her appointment with doctor. With the help of Jameel they intervene in her house and tackled the situation while Manahil gave birth to a boy. Manahil finds out that Salah-ul-Din has paid the dues of hospital and all arrangement that he has made, she warned him not to interfere in her life, even if she is dead. Jameel becomes their temporary servant in order to look for her. Later, Manahil reveals to Mikaeel that Salah-ul-Din pays her hospital dues.

Jameel follows Salah-ul-Din instructions to keep an eye on Manahil, and slowly developes a contact telling Salah-ul-Din's sayings, who he refers to her as "Guru". Jameel comforts Manahil by telling about his Guru's instructions to solve her problems, Manahil would ask a question and then Salah-ul-Din answer her back through Jameel. Manahil and Meekail become more distant due to his behaviour. Manahil ask Jameel of his Guru number, to which he first show reluctance but later on Manahil insistence that she will only message her, he gave Salah-ul-Din number. Jameel issued an advertisement for secretary on the request of Salah-ul-Din mother to lure him in a marriage but he strictly refused. Jeena overheard of this news and try to get the job and ask Jameel to handle all office works. Manahil plan's picnic on the instruction of "Guru" for children, where Salah-ul-Din also follow them in a park.

Salah-ul-Din watches Tipu and Manahil playing in the park. Manahil continue to talk to Salah-ul-Din, who disguise himself as a "Guru" where he regularly watches Manahil. Jeena consistently tries to impress Salah-ul-Din and develops a relation with is mother. Manahil talks to her family on the advice of "Guru". Manahil finds out about Jameel and Salah-ul-Din, she confronts him and warns him not intervene her life and warns if he continue she will commit suicide. Shahb and Raheela finds out that Mikaeel has started gambling again and they went to confront him.

Mikaeel misbehaves with them and throw them out, disheart by his behaviour both gets killed in a car accident. Salah-ul-Din rushes to Manahil but sees her from a distance who is shocked on her in-laws death. Jeena consistently try to find out about Manahil and Salah-ul-Din. Mikaeel confront Manahil for telling his parents about his gambling, to which she denies. Jeena tries to come close to Salah-ul-Din by intervening more in his life. Manahil went to Salah-ul-Din and accused him of telling about Mikaeel's truth to his parents and blames him for their death and for everything that bad happened in her life. Salah-ul-Din ask for Jameel's help in luring Mikaeel out of his gambling habit for once and all, looking at Manahil's deteriorating condition.

Salah-ul-Din help Manahil for taking her daughter to hospital in time. Upon returning Mikaeel taunts on Manahil saying that he has no problem seeing both together and he don't mind if Salah-ul-Din comes home in his absence, for which Salah-ul-Din slaps Mikaeel. Jeena inquires about Manahil's relation with Salah-ul-Din through his mother and becomes jealous. She expresses her feelings to Jameel and he warned her not to go after Salah-ul-Din as it is a hollow pursuit. Salah-ul-Din scoldes Jeena when he sees her preparing food for him once again, to which Jeena furiously asks Salah-ul-Din to leave Manahil and leaves saying that she care about him. Manahil parents became worried about her situation and try to convince Manahil to come home for sometime. Manahil burst into tears remembering her parent's in law and decided to leave Mikaeel once and for all. Mikaeel comes home drunk because his friend Bari stopped playing gambling at his place which makes Mikaeel worried because of his addiction and lust to this habit. Manahil decided to stay to help rehabilitate Mikaeel from his gambling habit.
