Kempendyay (Russian: Кемпендяй; Yakut: Кэмпэндээйи, Kempendeeyi) is a rural locality (a selo), the administrative centre of and one of two settlements, in addition to Chayygda, in Kempendyaysky Rural Okrug of Suntarsky District in the Sakha Republic, Russia. Its population as of the 2002 Census was 483.[1]
The village is located by the banks of the Kempendyay, a tributary of the Vilyuy, 55 kilometers (34 mi) from Suntar, the administrative center of the district.[5][6]
