Karakoram International University (KIU) or Karakoram University ( Urdu: قراقرم انٹرنیشنل یونیورسٹی) is a public sector university located in the Gilgit-Baltistan region of northern Pakistan. It was established in 2002 with a charter from the Federal Government of Pakistan, aiming to increase access to higher education in Gilgit-Baltistan.

The main campus is located near the meeting point of the Gilgit and Hunza rivers and surrounded by a stunning range of majestic mountains. Students in Gilgit-Baltistan had to endure great hardship before the university's establishment because they could not pursue their undergraduate, graduate, or post-graduate degrees elsewhere. Fortunately, today's students can obtain higher education right in their community.

The main campus of the university is located in Konodass, Gilgit. There are two main campuses of The Karakoram International University. Its main campus is situated on the University Road, which is easily accessible from the airport and the bus station. A bridge has also been constructed between Gilgit airport and the university to fascilitate convenient transportation. The sub-campus of the Karakoram International University in the Skardu region was inaugurated by the former Chief Minister of Gilgit-Balitistan Syed Mehdi Shah in July 2011. This campus is located at the Hussainabad Road in Skardu.

According to its charter, Karakoram International University is a multi-campus university. Additional campuses are seeking to be established in feasible localities.
