Homosexuality: A Philosophical Inquiry is a 1988 book about homosexuality by philosopher Michael Ruse.[1] It has been called "a careful survey of rival theories of homosexuality" by law professor Richard Posner.[2] Philosopher Edward Stein has criticized the book, writing that Ruse mistakenly suggests that defining sexual orientation in terms of sexual feelings and desires rather than sexual behavior shows that a social constructionist view of the subject is false. Stein finds Ruse's discussion of social constructionism superficial.[3]
