Fumiya Takahashi (高橋 文哉, Takahashi Fumiya, born March 12, 2001)[1] is a Japanese actor.
Takahashi was born March 12, 2001, in Saitama Prefecture, Japan.[1] In 2017, he participated in a beauty pageant "Male High Schooler Mr. Contest 2017" and won the grand prize in December.[2] He had his first television appearance in Nippon TV's Tokuson: Life Hacks! , which premiered on April 12, 2018.[3] He debuted as an actor in the stage play Taishō Roman Tantei Dan: Muttsu no Maria Zo in April 2018 as well.[4][5] Besides, he participated in the Season 4 of Ameba TV's reality show Who Is the Wolf? in Q3 of the same year, which raised the popularity of Takahashi.[6] During this period, Takahashi was referred to as "the top handsome high schooler in Japan".[6]
In July 2019, it was announced that Takahashi would play the protagonist role in Kamen Rider Zero-One, which was the first Kamen Rider work in the Reiwa era.[7] At the age of 18, he was the first main Kamen Rider actor who was born in the 21st century.[8] He was also the first participant of the "Male High Schooler Mr. Contest" who played the lead role of a Kamen Rider work.[7][a] The television drama series premiered from September 2019 to August 2020.[7][10]
Having taken part in the Kamen Rider series for a year, Takahashi played Tōya Fujiwara, a student role in TV Asahi's Sensei wo Kesu Hōteishiki. from October 2020, making his first television drama appearance after Kamen Rider Zero-One.[10] He joined the filming of the drama series only four days after the end of the filming process of Kamen Rider Zero-One the Movie: Real×Time.[11] He played a student role as well in his next television drama, Captivated, by You.[11] He played Akira Nikaidō in TBS's Kikazaranai Koi ni wa Riyū ga Atte from April 2021, making his first appearance in a prime time drama.[12]
While consistently making appearances in television dramas,[13] his notable works include Saiai in 2021[14] and I Will Be Your Bloom in 2022.[15] In 2023, he played Gaku Kitada in Fermat no Ryōri, marking his first time of playing the lead role in a prime time drama.[15] He also played the lead role in a romantic movie for the first time in Kōkan Uso Nikki in the same year.[16]
