Fruit Fly (2009) is a musical film with a gay theme, directed by H. P. Mendoza, director of Colma The Musical. The film, made entirely in San Francisco features all-sung dialogue, similar to The Umbrellas of Cherbourg (1964).

Plot

A young woman, Bethesda (L. A. Remigen), moves to San Francisco from Maryland and Manila, and finds herself caught between various worlds, gay and straight, artistic and corporate, and is dubbed a "fruit fly", a term similar to fag hag.

Premiere

Fruit Fly will premiere on March 15, 2009 at the San Francisco International Asian American Film Festival at the Castro Theatre in San Francisco.
