English: Full true colour (24-bit RGB) palette. The red shade changes by 1 across the y-axis, the green shade changes by 1 across the x-axis, and the blue changes by 1 in each new 256*256 block. There is a total of 256*256*256 or 16,777,216 colours.
The final 4096*4096 image was too large to make all at once in Java (the virtual machine reports java.lang.OutOfMemoryError: Java heap space), so I made this by splitting it into four different sections (top left, top right, bottom left and bottom right) and combining them in MS paint. The program to make such a simple image is therefore pretty complex and requires 8 classes to make it work. |
