John J. McNeilly Jr. (1918 – died on January 11, 2001)[1] was a justice of the Delaware Supreme Court from 1974 to 1986.[2]
He attended Duke University, graduating in 1940. He began taking classes at the University of Pennsylvania law school, but interrupted his studies when he joined the Navy after the bombing of Pearl Harbor. After serving four years, McNeilly returned to Penn and finished his law studies, graduating in 1948.[1]
Appointed by former Governor Elbert N. Carvel and began service on May 16, 1963; began service as an associate justice of the Delaware Supreme Court on October 24, 1974; retired on October 31, 1986; died on January 11, 2001.[3]
