American judge (1710–1777)
James Helme (May 7, 1710 – May 19, 1777) was chief justice of the Colonial Rhode Island Supreme Court from June 1767 to May 1768 and from June 1769 to June 1770.[1] He also served as an associate justice from June 1770 to May 1774.[1]
Helme married Esther Powell on October 19, 1738, with whom he had six sons and five daughters.
