Theophilus Nii Arday Otoo (born 16 March 1990), better known by his stage name Epixode is a Ghanaian highlife, dancehall, reggae musician and a fine art artist.[1][2] He is known to be the designer behind the Shatta Movement logo for the record label owned by Shatta Wale.[3]

Early life, education and career

He was born in Jamestown, Accra

and began making music in his early school days. Began performing for the school fair and represented his institution in

competitions when he was in elementary school.

His mother, a seasoned singer of Ghanaian traditional music who is a pioneer to Ga Folk Music and international African troops such as WULOMEI, TREMU, EBAAHI,KALIFI BAND, influenced his music. His inspiration comes from a daily vibe because he believes that every day has its own set of advantages and disadvantages, which makes him more willing to approach varied issues.

He studied at Nkawkaw Secondary School where he obtained his high school certificate and was named as one of the best Arts Students. Whilst in School he was the Entertainment Prefect and helped the school get their first ever music event documented on tape and visual . He continued his tertiary education Ghanatta College of Arts where he obtained Degree inFineArts and Painting and got a scholarship to study digital arts at NIIT

in 2022, he released a single 'Atiaa" which went on to become a masterpiece that has recandled the love for Indegenous Ghanaian Highlife in this modern times

He is the CEO of EpixodemusicGroup/VeryGoodBadBoys. He won the Best Reggae/Dancehall Act at the VGMAS (GhanaMusicAwardsDancehall Artist Of The Year at the Ghana Music Awards-USA 2022, Best Performer at the 3 Music Awards 2022, Reggae/Dancehall Artist of the Year at the Vodafone Ghana Music Awards (VGMA) 2021, Africa’s Most Promising act at the 2015 African Youth Choice Award in Nigeria, Reggae/Dancehall video of the Year at the Bass Awards,as well as nomination for the Best African Reggae/Dancehall Artist at the International Reggae and World Music Awards (IRAWMA).

Recognition and musical style

Epixode is mostly found doing ragga in Jamaican Patois (Patwa or Patwah), and is considered a "multifaceted artiste" due to the various musical styles he  dellivers. In 2021, he was crowned REGGAE DANCEHALL ARTISTE OF THE YEAR at the" GhanaMusicAwards"

His sophomore album, 3nity, released in 2018 had a cross content with fusion of 3 Genres  - 21 track album, 10 collaborations with features from global superstars like Stonbwoy (Ghana), Mr.Marley(nigeria), AmaraBrown (zimbabwe), Medikal(ghana), T'Neeya(cameron), MelB(zimbabwe), KurlSonx(Ghana), JuniorX (jamica). on same album he featured his biological mum on one of the songs .

He was listed one of the best live peformers and the king of Stages in this new era.

In 2020,

In 2022 he released a smashing hit "ATIA" as a reggae single which will go on to be one of the best records released in 9 different renditions. out of that "DE ATIA ACHIEVE" was born.

Epixode was named the brand Ambassador for 'Biggo'. In September 2022, he was named face of JPAH , an NGO based in USA.[4]

2022 he was a main judge on TV3's "TalentedKids" and for 2 years a Scout judge for Mentor till date.

World tours and notable performances

2017 epixode joined Jamaican Stars Turbulance and MegahBanton in Harare, Zimbabwe on their African tour , Same YEAR he went back As a headline Act and played 3 cities.

2018, headlined Uganda and Zambia, 2019 , act for HARARE INTERNATIONA CARNIVAL and shared stage with UHURU, JAHPRAZR, MAFIKIZOLO, Oliver Mtukudzi. same year open act for Grammy Award Winning Songstress ETANA on her tour in KENYA alongside WYRE.

He was adjudged as one of the best performers on the show by patrons and critics alike.
