Bunk Gardner (November 24, 1875 – October 26, 1950)[1] was a judge of the United States District Court for the Canal Zone from 1938 to 1948.
"He quit school at 15 and worked in a clothing store. He remained there until he was 23, studying law on the side in the office of Samuel Crossland".[1]
Gardner gained admission to the bar in Kentucky at the age of 24, and shortly thereafter became a city judge for Mayfield, Kentucky, remaining in that office for 17 years.[1]
