Ahmed Elashry[1] also known as Ahmed Maher Elashry (احمد ماهر العشري), is a Politician and Lawyer[2]. He started his career as a Journalist. As reported in Egyptian Media, Elashry was the youngest person in the world to receive the prestigious Hubert H. Humphrey Fellowship.[3][4] Elashry served on the executive teams of three Egyptian Prime Ministers. Ahmed Elashry started his career as a TV and Radio host in Egypt, he is the co-founder of Salam ya Masr radio show, the first youth run Radio show in the Middle East. Ahmed Elashry is the Vice Chair of the Young Lawyers - Lower Mainland Section of the Canadian Bar Association.[5]
In 2015 Ahmed was awarded the prestigious Chevening Scholarship where he studied politics in the University of York.[6] Ahmed is a frequent commenter on Egyptian politics[7][8][9][10]
Ahmed represented Egypt officially in various events and conferences around the world where he talked about politics and volunteerism[11][12][13][14]
Ahmed was born in Cairo, Egypt, in October 1989. He obtained his LLB degree from Ain Shams University in 2010. Ahmed started his political career by serving as the president of his student union.
Ahmed holds a Law degree from Ain Shams University in Cairo, Masters Degree in Public Administration and Public Policy from the University of York in England[15] and Master of Laws from the University of British Columbia.[16] in 2018, Ahmed was awarded the prestigious Hubert H. Humphrey fellowship where he studied Public Affairs and Law at the Arizona State University. [17]He also worked for one of DC’s biggest lobbying firm during his fellowship.
