• Together with the Ankogel Group, the Glockner Group, the Goldberg Group, the Schober Group, the Kreuzeck Group, the Granatspitz Group, the Villgraten Mountains and the Rieserferner Group − the Venediger Group forms the main range known as the High Tauern (Hohe Tauern).
The boundary for the region is taken from the definition of the Central Alps and its subdivisions into individual mountain groups by the Alpine Club division of the Eastern Alps (AVE).
