Bearforce 1

Bearforce 1 is a dance music band from the Netherlands. Their eponymous single "Bearforce 1" was #20 on LOGO TV's Ultimate Queer Videos Countdown[1]. They also have released several other singles, many of which are medleys, and are available online.

The Washington Post wrote of the band, "Finally, there's a boy band for older, hairy gay men."[2] The single Bearforce 1 was also popular amongst many blogs.[3][4].

The original members consisted of Ian Turner, Peter Johansson, Robert Brown and Yuri. Ian Turnel left the band in 2008 and was replaced by Konstantinos Zouganelis. Peter Johansson also left the band in the same year, and was replaced by Peter Gerrist.

On Saturday 3 January 2009, Sir Andrew Lloyd Webber and record company executive Colin Barlow dismissed an attempt by Bearforce 1 to represent the United Kingdom at the Eurovision Song Contest 2009 on BBC1's Your Country Needs You as "hopeless".

The band broke up in late 2009 and the Bearforce 1's website was closedOfficial Bearforce1 site. Lead vocalist of the band Robert Brown is pursuing a solo project and promoting a Gay Bear Night in his home town of Belfast [5] Former member and is now producing a solo album in his own studio in Amsterdam, which will be released beginning of 2011.
