The barriles are the traditional drums used in bomba music of Puerto Rico, since they have long been built from the wood of barrels. These drums are single-headed, shorter and wider than conga drums, and resonate a deeper.
The high pitch drum is called "subidor" or "primo", and the low pitch drum is called "buleador" and "segundo".
