Masinag Station is a proposed station on the Manila Light Rail Transit System Line 2 (LRT-2) in the Philippines. It is part of the LRT Line 2 East Extension. The LRT-2 east extension plan calls for an elevated 2-station, 4.14-kilometer extension eastward from Santolan, which means that this station would be above ground. The station would be the first LRT-2 station outside Metro Manila, being located in Antipolo in Rizal.[1]

The station would be the second and last for trains headed east from Santolan and the twelfth for trains headed from Recto. It would be located at the Masinag Junction on the western side of the intersection of Marcos Highway with Sumulong Highway.

Construction of the LRT-2 east extension began in September 2015 and is expected to be completed by April 2019, as Transportation Secretary Arthur Tugade said in the groundbreaking of the design and construction of the two additional stations last May 31, 2017, which is package 2 of the 3 packages of the east extension project. The construction of the station is set to be completed on August 2018.

[2]

As of this writing, Jan. 23, 2017, the entire extension from Santolan all the way to Masinag is finished. All that is missing are the two new stations; Emerald (Sta. Lucia) and SM Masinag Stations and the electric posts that will hold the main electric power source of the trains. Most of the closed inner lines under the elevated railway were now opened to the motorist thus improving traffic flow condition. The rain drain pipes are now also installed.

Nearby landmarks

When completed, the station will link directly to SM City Masinag.

Station layout

Due to the location's elevation, the height between the ground and concourse levels is equivalent to three stories.
