Early life and career

Bayer became interested in music at a young age and began playing the piano. In 2001, at the age of 15, he started producing music. Later, he studied music synthesis at the Berklee College of Music.[1]

In 2003, he founded the music project Signalrunners with Alan Nimmo from Scotland. Between 2003 and 2008, they produced thirteen singles and extended plays, including "Meet Me In Montauk" and "These Shoulders", both of which appeared on Anjunabeats in 2008. The duo founded the label Fraction Records.

After sending Above & Beyond multiple demos, they signed him in 2010 and released The Taxi Driver EP on Anjunadeep. In 2011, he released his debut album It's Artificial on Anjunabeats. His second album, If It Were You, We'd Never Leave, also appeared on Anjunabeats in 2013. He has worked with Above & Beyond on their second and third studio albums, Group Therapy and We Are All We Need.[2] The latter has peaked in the top 20 on charts in the United States, United Kingdom, Canada and Australia.[3]

In June 2018, Bayer released "Immortal Lover" as a single from his upcoming third studio album In My Last Life. The single features vocalist Alison May.[4][5][6]
