Ameerah Haq is a Bangladeshi technocrat. In December 2009, she was appointed Under-Secretary-General of the United Nations, thus becoming the highest-ranking Bangladeshi official at the UN. Haq is also the Secretary-General's Special Representative for Timor-Leste and Head of the United Nations Integrated Mission in Timor-Leste (UNMIT).

Haq joined the UN in 1976. She was educated at Western College for Women, Columbia University and New York University.
