The deadline for the presentation of candidacy to organize the second Junior Pan American Games was Fall 2022, on which date Asunción, Santa Marta and Lima were selected as host city candidates by Panam Sports. Asunción was chosen as the host city by the General Assemly in Miami on November 28, 2022 and beat out Santa Marta by 16 votes with 32-16.
