Pardesiya (Hebrew: פַּרְדֵּסִיָּה) is a toun (local cooncil) in the Central Destrict o Israel. It is locatit on the Sharon plain, atween Kfar Yona an the Lev HaSharon Regional Cooncil. It wis foondit atween 1937 an 1939.[1] Its population in 2007 wis 6,200,[2] an its jurisdiction is 1,273 dunams (~1.3 km2)[3]
The lands o Pardesiya wur purchased in 1928 bi Jean-Yona Fisher, but remained unuised. In 1937, Avraham Tabib o the Yemenite olim organization asked its members tae come tae the land tae big a veelage, promisin cheap land.[4] Twinty families came an in 1939 completit the construction. Durin Warld War II, the veelagers foond thairseles unemployed an unable tae pey taxes for thair hoosin. The residents managed tae settle the issue wi the Jewish Agency for Israel an continued livin in the veelage. Efter the war, a new neighborhuid wis biggit, as well as a ma'abara tae absorb new immigrants. Pardesiya gained local cooncil status in 1952.[1]
Pardesiya is locatit on the Sharon plain, borderin Kfar Yona on the east an Tzur Moshe o the Lev HaSharon Regional Cooncil. Heich-gate 4 borders the toun tae the wast, an Road 5613 tae the sooth. Its elevation is 35 m abuin sea level.[5]
