Wikipedia has now reached over 3.5 million articles - see Main_Page. I'd like to know how many of those articles are redirects and if none are counted in that total(unlikely) , then how many redirect pages exist. Regards, SunCreator (talk) 12:40, 18 December 2010 (UTC)[reply]
- That number does not include redirects. See Special:Statistics. The total number of redirects is difficult to compute as some are double redirects, some redirect to a redlink, etc, etc. However, there are certainly far more redirects than articles. See Category:All redirect categories. Maybe someone else here will be able to suggest a definitive number.--Shantavira|feed me 14:09, 18 December 2010 (UTC)[reply]
- It's not a very interesting question, really. Lots of redirects are for alternative capitalization and boring things like that. Looie496 (talk) 18:57, 18 December 2010 (UTC)[reply]
- Oi! We don't get to decide what others find interesting. Or boring, for that matter. -- Jack of Oz ... speak! ... 19:34, 18 December 2010 (UTC) [reply]
- According to http://stats.wikimedia.org/EN/TablesWikipediaEN.htm there were 4.5 million redirects in September. I'm not sure whether it 's only for redirects in mainspace. PrimeHunter (talk) 03:38, 20 December 2010 (UTC)[reply]
