Previous closure at Wikipedia:Files for discussion/2016 September 11#File:Newport Murals1.jpg is faulty. ((FoP-USonly)) applies to unfree buildings of no-FOP countries, not copyrighted public art that are not architecture. English Wikipedia follows U.S. copyright law, hence applies U.S. architectural FOP to unfree buildings. There is no U.S. FOP for other protected public art however. Note that the artwork's country of origin, UK, has FOP that does not extend to 2D flat arts or graphic works including murals. JWilz12345 (Talk|Contrib's.) 02:29, 24 April 2022 (UTC)[reply]

• The closure only endorsed not moving to Commons, not that the image was eligible for FoP (a template no one has added either), as commons:COM:FOP UK specifically excludes murals.
