May 2012[edit]

Welcome to Wikipedia. It might not have been your intention, but your recent edit removed content from EQuibbly. When removing content, please specify a reason in the edit summary and discuss edits that are likely to be controversial on the article's talk page. If this was a mistake, don't worry; the content has been restored, as you can see from the page history. July 2012[edit]

Welcome to Wikipedia. Everyone is welcome to contribute constructively to the encyclopedia. However, please do not add promotional material to articles or other Wikipedia pages, as you did to Online dispute resolution. Advertising and using Wikipedia as a "soapbox" are against Wikipedia policy and not permitted. Take a look at the welcome page to learn more about Wikipedia. Thank you.--S. Rich (talk) 17:05, 11 July 2012 (UTC)[reply]

S. Rich - why did you revert my changes to the article - There is no policy agains including an example of what you're talking about when adding facts. Using eQuibbly as an example of the type of ODR I added is perfectly within the regulations. IT IS DEFINITELY NOT SPAM! How could I possibly add the factual information without naming an example of the type of ODR I'm writing about? Do you have better examples?

Thedisputer -- your pattern of editing indicates use of Wikipedia for promotion. For example, your edits to Aeroplan (here [1] and [2])point to eQuibbly (or its owner) as a party to a class action law suit and specifically asked readers to contact eQuibbly. Please read the guidance in the above paragraphs.--S. Rich (talk) 17:45, 11 July 2012 (UTC)[reply]

S Rich - I'm providing facts to people who might be interested in the facts. Your pattern of editing is indicative of a someone with way too much time on their hands. Don't you have something better to do than making other people's lives miserable? I could understand if it were plain and simple promotion, but it is not. These are FACTS and provide people with INFORMATION that may be important to them. Just because it is not important to you does not mean it is not important to others. I'm completely open to constructive criticism but I'm not open to bullying - is that what they teach you in the military - to bully your way into getting what YOU want?

Please do not remove maintenance templates from pages on Wikipedia, as you did to EQuibbly, without resolving the problem that the template refers to, or giving a valid reason for the removal in the edit summary. Your removal of this template does not appear constructive, and has been reverted. Thank you. Proper placement or removal of the template needs to be addressed on the talk page. Please stop. --S. Rich (talk) 17:51, 11 July 2012 (UTC)[reply]

S. Rich - please stop making ridiculous assertions and accusations. Do you not have anything better to do with your time than aggravate people?
Thedisputer, you can be upset if you want to. That is your decision. As a new editor, though, you've got to follow the guidelines and learn. Please WP:COOL.--S. Rich (talk) 18:05, 11 July 2012 (UTC)[reply]

S Rich - I do want to learn and, yes, I am new to this and also have a new business to deal with which is really stressing me out. I have so much on my plate right now that I'm extremely stressed and pressed for time and to have someone pick on me is not what I need right now. I could use some helpful suggestions for sure, but at least try to look at my contributions from the perspective of someone who might be interested in the information I'm providing and who might find it interesting or useful. I understand that not everyone will, but there are definitely some people, especially in the ODR community, who will. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 174.119.181.39 (talk) 18:14, 11 July 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Okay, I always try to assume good faith. Re the edit you reverted and labeled as vandalism, please take a look at WP:NOT VANDALISM. And, more importantly, look at the WP:ADVERT policy. If your new business happens to be (or connected to) eQuibbly, then you've got to follow the rules. Let more experienced editors such as myself make improvement. Also, declare your WP:COI. But getting in a huff, regardless of your stress level, will get you blocked from editing.
Here are two things to ease your stress: One, I bestow upon you this

service badge. Post it on your user page with pride. Two, take heart in the fact that eQuibbly has had 349 page views since you created it. These page views include your edits and those of people who have no interest or use of eQuibbly, so putting a lot of stress into the article is not going to help grow your business. --S. S. Rich - thanks for your help - I do appreciate the good kind of 'help' :) I'm not very good at this wikipedia stuff. Perhaps I just have too much on my plate right now to learn new things. I used to be good at learning new things when I was younger. Getting old is not much fun. Thedisputer (talk) 20:31, 11 July 2012 (UTC)[reply]
