Canberra Roller Derby League[edit]

Thanks for your contribution to the Canberra Roller Derby League article. There are some issues with your edit in terms of sourcing.

was established in 2008 by Bullseye Betty, Roulette Rouge, Peachy Keen and Dr Hell

Do you have a source for that? Dengate, Cayla (27 Jul 2008). "Bullseye Betty and Dr Hell push ahead to a new league". Canberra Times. Retrieved 28 August 2011. does not support that additional information. Unless a source can be found, it probably needs to be removed. (Is that on the League's website?)

The league presidents from 2008 to 2009 were Bullseye Bettie and Dr Hell.

Canberra Roller Derby League (11 Dec 2010). "A Letter from the CRDL President". Roller Derby. 11 Dec 2010 (CRDL vs SRDL). Canberra, Australia: Canberra Roller Derby League: 12.((cite journal)): CS1 maint: date and year (link) does not include a reference to Dr Hell. Do you have a reference to Dr. Hell being the president? Is that on their website?

The 2011 squad is captained by ShortStop and vice captains Melicious Damage and Kitten Kaboodle.

The original text says "The 2011 squad was captained by ShortStop and Melicious Damage." and Canberra Roller Derby League (2 Apr 2011). "The Black 'N' Blue Belles". Canberra Roller Derby League 2011 Bout Guide. 12 Mar 2011 (Surly Griffins vs Black N Blue Belles). Canberra, Australia: Canberra Roller Derby League: 4–5.((cite journal)): CS1 maint: date and year (link) does not support that. (Did they change that? Would an updated bout guide have more recent information? Is that on their website?)

The 2011 squad is captained by Shaggle Frock and vice captains The DutchAss and Dalai Slam'er. The squad's 2011 sponsors include Impact Comics.

The original text was "The team had a number of new skaters join the competition squad for the 2011 bout season." and the source Canberra Times (29 Apr 2011). "Roller Derby: Red Bellied Black Hearts v Brindabelters". Canberra Times. Retrieved 28 Aug 2011. does not appear to support that text.

The squad's 2011 sponsors include CanPrint.

The original text said "The team had a number of new skaters join the competition squad for the 2011 bout season. " and Canberra Times (29 Apr 2011). "Roller Derby: Red Bellied Black Hearts v Brindabelters". Canberra Times. Retrieved 28 Aug 2011. does not appear to support that text.

The citation issue continues on through your edit. We're hoping to get this article to Good Article status as one of the best articles on Wikipedia. In order to do that, the text needs to match all the references. You included a tremendous amount of useful information. It shows a huge amount of hard work… but the references don't match the text. :( I don't want to undo it because of all the hard work you've obviously done and because the information you added is really valuable. If you have a couple of sources, like the CRDL website or the bout guides, that you could link to which support the information you included, I'd be more than happy to go through and add those references to the article so the information can be preserved and included in the article. :) --LauraHale (talk) 12:17, 9 September 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Ah yes, I see what you want.

Can't actually cite most of what I typed, unless my journal has suddenly gotten a ISBN number. I'm a league member trying to correct some inaccuracies and make sure that all relevant folks are acknowledged. Happy to be cited as "personal correspondance". Or happy to have it deleted/ returned to original. Rollertrousers (talk) 12:29, 9 September 2011 (UTC)[reply]

I'll poke around the CRDL website and see if I can't find the sources to support the statements. No worries. Can understand the need to fix incorrect information. (One of the more annoying aspects of Wikipedia can be the need to cite information, and when you know something is absolutely a fact but can't do it and people come in and want to revert it.) May ask one or two people to try to help. --LauraHale (talk) 20:14, 9 September 2011 (UTC)[reply]
