Per Billboard and the RIAA's guideline, an album has to be at least 51% recorded in Spanish to be considered a "Latin album". Shakira's Laundry Service is mostly sung in English and is therefore not considered to be a "Latin album" by either organization and is the reason why it did not rank on Billboard's Top Latin Albums chart. In addition, the list is based on this article by Nielsen SoundScan which provided the sales data and doesn't list Laundry Service because, again, it's not mostly sung in Spanish. Erick (talk) 15:04, 31 March 2021 (UTC)
Thanks for explain :D. Can you help me? the other day checking in ChartMaster I realized that Laundry Service already has 16 million sales so you can help me update on their Wikipedia page since the 13 million sales is very out of date. Can you update it or give me permission to update? Link: https://chartmasters.org/2018/04/data-collector-biggest-cspc-albums-of-the-2000s/?fbclid=IwAR2pbaD2iDZhm_hBFcQzj4L-0P1j-1F7XhDZAgiahVL8Z3XQT8qi8uiwHHw
Oh okay, thank u. I'm sorry.
Hi AlexanderShakifan29,
I saw that you reverted my editions and that of other editors here on Wikipedia regarding the sales of Shakira's Laundry Service album. What we do here on Wikipedia is to put numbers closer to the amount of reliable information we have so that there are no promotional and inflated numbers by fans and record labels. One case that serves as an example is the Michael Jackson's Thriller album, for a long time it was said that sales of this album were around 55 million worldwide, but after his the media started to say that it sold over 100 million, then an RfC was made in the talk page of the article and it was agreed this number was unreal and totally disproportionate to the number of certificates that the album has in the world, so it remained at 66 million, the number was increased because after his death the sales and certifications increased. In the case of Shakira, this album sold around 3 million in the United States and 4 million in Europe and those were the places where she had the biggest sales. So we included in the article the 13 million claim (a gap of around 6 million) to cover missing sales from small markets and other places where the CD also sold well. That is why the 13 million sold is the most suitable to be kept in the article. A claim of 15 million would be very inflated and disproportionate to the number of certificates and sales information we have.--88marcus (talk) 20:33, 3 May 2021 (UTC)
With 13 million claim we have a gap of 5 million records which includes little markets like you mentioned (Peru, Egypt...) in those countries an artists get a gold certification if the artist sold 5,000 or even 3,000 we can't expect the album sold in the millions in countries like that. About Avril Lavigne she is listed here with 16 million sold which is the more accurate to her certifications, she has way more certifications than Shakira and is listed with only 1 million copies more. Tottally disproportionate and inflated.--88marcus (talk) 23:50, 3 May 2021 (UTC)

An article you recently created, List of best-selling albums by women, is not suitable as written to remain published. It needs more citations from reliable, independent sources. (?) Information that can't be referenced should be removed (verifiability is of central importance on Wikipedia). I've moved your draft to draftspace (with a prefix of "Draft:
" before the article title) where you can incubate the article with minimal disruption. When you feel the article meets Wikipedia's general notability guideline and thus is ready for mainspace, please click on the "Submit your draft for review!" button at the top of the page. Alexandermcnabb (talk) 07:20, 4 May 2021 (UTC)
I saw now that you are creating an article for the best-selling albums of female artists, the current list is full of inflated sales and even contains sales that were decided to be kept with much lower numbers with RFCs made on the article's discussion pages. Please do not do this, each album you include already has on its pages the correct sales, closer to the certificates, all of them are already increased enough considering the time of release, the streams, the certificates and the performance in charts over the years. There is no need for this type of content here.--88marcus (talk) 22:00, 4 May 2021 (UTC)
Your sum is wrong. The Laundry service has 9.7 million certified copies worldwide, see that in summaries is listed the quantity of all European countries together, there is no need to add all the European countries that are in the table, the 4 million cover even countries that are not in table. In the list you mentioned most of the albums that are in it that have 40 million in sales are albums from the 1970s, at that time there were few organizations that certified albums and all of these albums continued to appear on charts over the years, they are all great catalog sellers, they were released firstly in LP and than in K7 and then in CD and then in digital and than in streaming... The Laundry Service is the opposite of that, he stayed on the charts for about 2 years and then disappeared, there is no information that it continued to sell millions over the years, especially in the United States, which is the largest market for Shakira. It is a false idea that all CDs sell millions after their releases, when the artist finishes promoting the albums (no music videos, no performances, no tour) the interest of the audience decreases and the album become out of catalog soon. The 15 million claim of LS is already over-inflated, 13 million is enough for this album. Christina Aguilera's Stripped and Britney Spears' Britney appear with much less here, 10 million and 9 million even though their performance is similar to the Shakira CD.--88marcus (talk) 22:15, 6 May 2021 (UTC)

An editor has opened an investigation into sockpuppetry by you. Sockpuppetry is the use of more than one Wikipedia account in a manner that contravenes community policy. The investigation is being held at Wikipedia:Sockpuppet investigations/AlexanderShakifan29, where the editor who opened the investigation has presented their evidence. Please make sure you make yourself familiar with the guide to responding to investigations, and then feel free to offer your own evidence or to submit comments that you wish to be considered by the Wikipedia administrator who decides the result of the investigation. If you have been using multiple accounts (in a manner contrary to Wikipedia policy), please go to the investigation page and verify that now. Leniency is usually shown to those who promise not to do so again, or who did so unwittingly, but the abuse of multiple accounts is taken very seriously by the Wikipedia community. Good afternoon, sorry yesterday I reversed an edit thinking that it was again an unnamed user deleting information for no reason. Hello. 300×300 is a preferred equal, square format for cover artworks per Template:Infobox album, and PNG is the preferred file format for digital artworks over JPG. Hi, Alexander. I see you have started some drafts about Shakira, and you have others in your to do list. As other users, like Krups Music who gave you similar suggestions, I also think you must start to try trim vague info. Thus, I honestly think you shouldn't create those drafts (let me explain better below), but condense her cultural impact article.
I've noted you're borrowing whole ideas from a more established scholarly reviews on Madonna (my recommendation to you would don't take ES Wikipedia as a guideline to build these entire articles either), as a model to implement a similar treatment to Shakira. My concern with all of these relies that we are giving a false impression, and it can be labeled as original research and beyond. Part of the problems also relies that sources giving are from questionable to mid-quality; scholarly articles are a rarity if not inexistent actually.
I bring to you some examples: I remember seeing in one of these articles, a YouTube reference from a "philosopher", and currently in the Draft:Analysis of Shakira's musical work this from a Scribd document or Culturizando. This YouTube's user is a non-notable figure, and that's a self-published source. Scribd is an e-commerce source, but the main concern comes this article doesn't appear in a scholarly journal or from the University itself. Culturalizando is not a source to take into account per se, as author even is citing Milenio/Wikipedia. And all of them were used to build a whole idea that philosophers or academics have studied her or similar claims with self-made conclusions. Let me ask you something: If Bad Bunny received a course devoted to him or five scholarly articles, we could argue he's a topic among scholars? I honestly don't think so. I only interpret that is part of insolated examples. Shakira seems to be another example as such claims haven't been confirmed by neither an academic or a scholarly paper.
Please don't take it personal. I just think is necessary you to recognize key differences to avoid original research and similar terrains. Regards, --Apoxyomenus (talk) 02:45, 19 October 2022 (UTC)
Hello :D, good night user. Personally, the drafts that I have done so far are mostly due to the fact that information about them has been removed from the cultural impact page for reasons such as that it does not demonstrate her cultural impact. So I prefer to make it an annex with sources that little by little I will improve it. I only seek to amplify the legacies of artists like Gloria, Ricky and most of all Shakira. Now I had to leave editing for a while because I'm more busy with other things. AlexanderShakifan29 (talk) 04:59, 19 October 2022 (UTC)
Hi AlexanderShakifan29. We generally discourage editors that are not new page patrollers from moving articles to draftspace, since this can be seen as bypassing the deletion policy and/or biting new editors. If you are going to do it, please be aware of the guidelines at WP:DRAFTIFY. Specifically, regarding Monotonía, you should not draftify an article if there is an assertion that the page belongs in mainspace
, such as an objection to a proposed deletion. – Joe (talk) 09:42, 20 October 2022 (UTC)

Thank you for your contributions to Wikipedia. It appears that you copied or moved text from Waka Waka (This Time for Africa) into Draft:Shakira live performances. While you are welcome to re-use Wikipedia's content, here or elsewhere, Wikipedia's licensing does require that you provide attribution to the original contributor(s). When copying within Wikipedia, this is supplied at minimum in an edit summary at the page into which you've copied content, disclosing the copying and linking to the copied page, e.g., copied content from [[page name]]; see that page's history for attribution
. It is good practice, especially if copying is extensive, to also place a properly formatted ((copied)) template on the talk pages of the source and destination. Please provide attribution for this duplication if it has not already been supplied by another editor, and if you have copied material between pages before, even if it was a long time ago, you should provide attribution for that also. You can read more about the procedure and the reasons at Wikipedia:Copying within Wikipedia. Thank you. — Diannaa (talk) 13:56, 28 December 2022 (UTC)

I'm almost done with the best-selling Latin artists page and was going over your draft for Draft:List of best-selling female Latin artists. Do you want to continue working on this list? Because it's an interesting topic and I would like to work with you. I already made some bold pages. You can tell me your thoughts. BTW, I lowered the threshold for female Latin music artists if that's alright with you. Erick (talk) 05:03, 3 March 2023 (UTC)

Please do not remove content from pages on Wikipedia without giving a valid reason for the removal in the edit summary. Your content removal does not appear to be constructive and has been reverted. The content removed has a valid source and supercedes the significantly older source you inserted instead. If you only meant to make a test edit, please use your sandbox for that. Thank you. The article List of Shakira tribute albums has been proposed for deletion because of the following concern:
Does not meet WP:LISTN. No substantial coverage in secondary sources outside of catalog listings.
While all constructive contributions to Wikipedia are appreciated, pages may be deleted for any of several reasons.
You may prevent the proposed deletion by removing the ((proposed deletion/dated))
notice, but please explain why in your edit summary or on the article's talk page.
Please consider improving the page to address the issues raised. Removing ((proposed deletion/dated))
will stop the proposed deletion process, but other deletion processes exist. In particular, the speedy deletion process can result in deletion without discussion, and articles for deletion allows discussion to reach consensus for deletion. hinnk (talk) 21:32, 8 April 2024 (UTC)

Hola causa, I shared recently on the Latin Music Project talk page that I've been working on adding sources to the list of number one singles in Perú from the 1960s. I completed 1963 but I could use some help with completing 1962, 1964, 1965, and 1966 if you have time and are interested. The sources are found in archives of Billboard magazine in their "Hits of the World" section. FanDePopLatino (talk) 23:07, 8 June 2024 (UTC)
