Hey there, I'm Vincent60030 and I am in university now, majoring in mechanical engineering. Well, my interest is mostly about London Underground, but generally I am interested in modern trains and architecture. Eventhough I live on the east side of the globe (don't mind about the digital clock time), I am a Tube Enthusiast and also a very big fan of it. I’m also an announcements fan and imitate them quite a lot haha...also I have more followers than Donald Trump lol

London Underground
London Underground is a train system in London (of course) which gives a very frequent and convenient service. Its network spreads mostly to the north, but the Northern line extends far south to Morden followed by the District line to Wimbledon. However, the Bakerloo line will also be extended south to Hayes or Beckenham Junction in the near future. The system has existed since 1863, being the first line as the Metropolitan Railway. Its first section was between Paddington and Farringdon.
The longest tunnel section is between just south of East Finchley and just north of Morden
Euston's Northern line Bank branch and Victoria line platforms have cross-platform interchange between northbound services and vice versa but run in opposite directions.

My View on London Underground (planning to revise this)

The tube is generally having lots of accessibility problems for all ages as compared to train networks such as in Australia and Hong Kong where most (or even all) are accessible. In my humble opinion, I suggest that TfL should plan more step-free projects into the system. I do understand the complexity of the work. Nevertheless, there is always a solution to everything, whether it would be minor or major.
During my free time, I would pretend that I am a member of staff of Improving the Tube and plan out improvements to the network. I would like to share some though:
A new line from Hatch End to Dartford with stations at Hatch End, Stanmore West, Stanmore, Edgware, Mill Hill Broadway, Mill Hill East, Finchley Central (underground), East Finchley, Highgate (high-level), Crouch End, Finsbury Park and all stations to Moorgate on the Great Northern Railway, Bank, London Bridge, South Bermondsey, New Bermondsey (Surrey Canal Road), New Cross, St. John's (NR no longer need to stop here), Lewisham, Blackheath, Kidbrooke and all stations to Barnehurst (taking over this part of the National Rail route), new Slade Green platforms at the junction/underground and Dartford. An optional branch to Orpington would be to diverge from South Bermondsey, all stations to Tulse Hill, West Norwood, Gipsy Hill, Crystal Palace and then in tunnels to Penge West, Kent House, Beckenham Junction and emerging at Shortlands, Bromley South, Bickley, Petts Wood and Orpington.
Bakerloo line further extension to Orpington from Hayes, with stations at Bromley Common, Farnborough Common and Orpington. Step-free access at Kenton, North Wembley, Harlesden, Kensal Green, Warwick Avenue, Marylebone, Baker Street, Oxford Circus, Piccadilly Circus, Charing Cross, Embankment, Waterloo (northbound) and all stations on the Bakerloo line extension. Note: Step-free access is planned at Queen's Park, Paddington and Elephant & Castle. All stations from Lewisham should have step-free measures planned too. To be honest, I rather close Charing Cross and leave all lines to stop at Embankment. Charing Cross National Rail station is closer to Embankment.
Central line Western extension to Cowley with stations at Castle Bar Park, Jubilee Gardens, Yeading Lane, Rosedale (Park), Hillingdon Heath and Cowley. Step-free access at South Ruislip, Northolt, West Acton, North Acton, White City, Shepherd's Bush, Oxford Circus, Bank (Central), Liverpool Street, Mile End, Leyton (status still unknown), Leytonstone, Wanstead, Gants Hill, Barkingside, Loughton and Cowley extension stations. Note: Step-free access is planned at Ealing Broadway, Holborn.
Splitting of the Edgware Road to Wimbledon Line on the District line. Extension of that line to Shepperton and Byfleet via Hampton and Weybridge, with stations at Raynes Park, New Malden, Norbiton and all stations to Shepperton, South Shepperton, North Weybridge, Weybridge, Brooklands Museum, Byfleet. A separate branch line to Hampton Court as well, with shuttle services between New Malden and Hampton Court. A further extension is possible to East Molesey, Molesey and West Molesey. This line will become a deep-tube line. To the east, an extension to Enfield Town is possible, with stations at Primrose Hill (new location), Kentish Town, Holloway (Odeon Cinema), Finsbury Park, Harringay (Green Lanes), West Green, Waltheof Gardens, Tatem Park, Enfield Ridge (Ridge Avenue) and Enfield Town. Step-free access at Paddington, High Street Kensington, West Brompton, Putney Bridge, East Putney, Raynes Park, New Malden, Norbiton, Kingston, Teddington, Hampton, Sunbury, Shepperton, Weybridge, Byfleet, Surbiton, Thames Ditton, Hampton Court, East Molesey, Molesey, West Molesey, Primrose Hill, Kentish Town, Holloway, Finsbury Park and all stations to Enfield Town.
Cutting back the District line to Barking. This increases capacity and enables the Hammersmith & City line to utilize its capacity. Transferring the Ealing Broadway branch to the Piccadilly line and taking over the Uxbridge branch. Kensington branch will be a shuttle service to Earl's Court only. Step-free access at Bow Road, Mile End, Monument, Cannon Street, Embankment, West Kensington, Turnham Green, Ealing Common, Gunnersbury. Note: Step-free access currently planned at Ealing Broadway, South Kensington, Whitechapel and Bromley-by-Bow. I wish Cannon Street would close while Monument would be relocated to the west to connect to Cannon Street National Rail to speed up journey times.
Hammersmith & City line extension to Upminster and Cranham, taking over the District line between Barking and Upminster. Step-free access at Ladbroke Grove, Baker Street, Euston Square, Mile End, Bow Road, Becontree. Note: Planned step-free stations include Whitechapel, Barbican (westbound), Moorgate, Liverpool Street. If not because of constraints at Hammersmith and capacity issues, it would have been good to extend it to Putney and Kew Bridge (connecting to future London Overground).
Jubilee line extension to Bushey/Watford with stations at Stanmore Hill (opening later), Bushey Heath (Elstree Road), Bushey. Additional station in extension: Watford. Another extension would be from Stratford to Tottenham Hale, and possibly to Hertford East taking over West Anglia stopping services and Hertford East branch. Step-free access at Canons Park/Queensbury, Dollis Hill/Neasden, Willesden Green, West Hampstead & Finchley Road, St. John's Wood/Swiss Cottage, Baker Street, Bushey Heath (Elstree Road), Rye House. Opportunity would be to rebuild the Rye House section to better serve the town. An alternative consideration is for the Jubilee line to go to Thamesmead instead, with stations at West Silvertown, London City Airport, Thamesmead West and Thamesmead.
Introduction of shuttle services between Watford Junction and Rickmansworth/Amersham on the Metropolitan line. This would increase capacity to serve Amersham and Chesham more frequently. A further extension to Tring (not Tring station) could be made possible, with the reopening of the line to Aylesbury Vale Parkway, taking over Chiltern Railways stopping services. Chiltern trains can now run fast and stop only at Amersham, Aylesbury and continue to extend to Waddesdon and Quainton Road which will continue to Oxford. Another option would be for London Overground to use Croxley rail link instead, while Metropolitan line services will continue to serve Watford as a shuttle to Moor Park. The line could continue to Watford Junction in tunnel, and then, taking over London Midland services to St. Albans Abbey. The existing tracks will be kept, while a new tunnel would be dug directly underneath whereby the tracks are stacked for bidirectional operation. Step-free access at Croxley, Rickmansworth, Northwood, Ruislip, Eastcote, Rayners Lane, Finchley Road, Baker Street, Euston Square, Great Missenden, Wendover, Aylesbury, Aylesbury Vale Parkway, Watford Junction and all stations to St. Albans Abbey. Note: Planned step-free stations are Harrow-on-the-Hill, Amersham, Barbican, Moorgate and Liverpool Street.
Northern line extension on the Edgware branch to Bushey, with stations at Brockley Hill, Elstree South, East Bushey, Bushey Heath (Elstree Road), Merry Hill (near the museum), Bushey. The line can continue further to Watford Junction, taking over the London Overground line. Another extension would be from High Barnet to Borehamwood, with stations at West Barnet, Arkley (open later), South Borehamwood, Borehamwood, North Borehamwood. Extension to Chessington South, with stations at Morden South, Morden Park, Motspur Park, Malden Manor, Tolworth, Chessington North and Chessington South. Step-free access at Belsize Park, East Finchley, Archway, Euston, Warren Street, Leicester Square, Charing Cross, Embankment, Waterloo, Angel, Old Street, Stockwell, Clapham South/Common, Balham, Tooting Broadway, Bushey Heath (Elstree Road), Merry Hill, Bushey, Watford High Street, Watford Junction, West Barnet, Borehamwood, Morden South and all stations to Chessington South. Note: There are planned step-free access at Colindale, Brent Cross, Mill Hill East, Moorgate, Elephant & Castle. I suggest modifying Clapham North and Clapham Common to have wider platforms or stacked. Step-free access could be provided alongside with Clapham High Street Overground station.
Piccadilly line extension to High Barnet, with stations at New Barnet and High Barnet. Piccadilly line services to terminate at Ealing Broadway and possible extension to the Greenford branch line via West Ealing. The District line will then run on the Uxbridge branch instead. Step-free access at Southgate, Wood Green, Turnpike Lane, Russell Square, Covent Garden, Leicester Square, Piccadilly Circus, Turnham Green, Ealing Common, Park Royal, South Harrow, Rayners Lane, Eastcote, Ruislip, Northfields and Hounslow Central. Note: Step-free access will be introduced at Osterley, Cockfosters, Knightsbridge, Holborn and Finsbury Park.
Victoria line extension from Brixton to Caterham via West Norwood, Waddon (Croydon) and Purley, with stations at Herne Hill, Tulse Hill, West Norwood, Knight's Hill, Norbury, Pollards Hill, Ampere Way (built on Purley Way), Waddon, South Beddington (bus link due to location), Purley and all stations to Caterham. This will take over the Caterham branch from National Rail. Additional extension from Walthamstow Central to South Woodford, with stations at Wood Street and South Woodford. Step-free access at all stations.
Waterloo & City line extension to Windsor & Eton Riverside and maybe Bracknell. Stations at Vauxhall, Queenstown Road (Battersea), Clapham Junction, Wandsworth Town, Putney, Barnes, Barnes Bridge and all stations to Hounslow and Feltham, Ashford, Staines, Wraysbury, Sunnymeads, Datchet, Windsor & Eton Riverside, Cranbourne, Winkfield (between Winkfield and Winkfield Row), North Bracknell and Bracknell. Another possible but obsolete extension would be from Bank to Chingford, taking over the London Overground Chingford Line with stations at Liverpool Street, Bethnal Green (National Rail) and all stations to Chingford including Cambridge Heath and London Fields stations. Addition of Blackfriars platforms between Bank and Waterloo would be a good idea. Step-free access at Waterloo.
Replace the London Overground Bushey to Watford Junction route with the Northern line/Bakerloo line. London Overground services will be diverted to use the Croxley Rail link instead to Rickmansworth.
