The Dowlais Ironworks was an ironworks located at Dowlais near Merthyr Tydfil in Wales.

History

Dowlais was founded in 1759.[1]: 22 

The truck shop opened at Dowlais in 1800, but it was less profitable than the shops at its rival ironworks.[2]: 524 

In 1930, Dowlais finally closed causing around 4,000 to lose their jobs.[3]
