Intro

As WP:FILM covers a variety of films from different eras, regions, and genres, we should strive to improve a variety of articles to higher quality for a better representation of film for readers and to provide examples for editors. The goal of this task force is to help articles reach GA status through collaboration in developing the many elements required for a film article. This setup allows for editors throughout the project to use their experience and strengths to assist where interested while simultaneously improving articles. For this collaboration, editors are invited to help out with the elements they feel comfortable with and branch out to new areas. This process can help expand editors' editing focus and introduce them to the requirements of GAs and WP:FILM guidelines.

• Lead - Does the article adequately cover all of the sections in the article? For most articles, they should strive to be three or four paragraphs. One sentence or two on each topic can help to balance out the lead.
• Images - Are any free images available that could support the article? For non-free images being used, do they include a source, proper license, and adequate fair use rationale? Do they meet size requirements and provide helpful captions?
• Plot - Perhaps the most challenging section of an article. Can a plot be reworded and condensed to meet size guidelines? Extraneous details should be removed to allow the readers to focus on the main story.
• Layout - Does the article conform with WP:FILM guidelines? Are issues with spelling/grammar resolved? No cleanup tags should be present on the page.
• Citations - Do citations follow consistent formatting? Are reliable sources being used? Are their sufficient citations to cover all contentous material? Not necessary, but may want to pursue using WebCite to protect articles from linkrot.
• Coverage - Does the article cover all major areas of the film? Could some areas be expanded with additional citations?

Other topics for discussion

• Are there any other main criteria to focus on?
• Which format is preferred: Sandbox 1 or Sandbox 2 (or something else)?
• Going to need editors to help out with reviewing at GAN to keep the media queue open for the film nominations.
• Set a goal of 500 GAs for the project. After that, will have plenty of articles to choose from to go for 100 FAs.
• Table format with check marks to address each of these points. Additional section for comments. Final area for an article to be approved to head off to GAN.
• Quality example GAs for new editors to refer to.
• Waiting queue, any number of films can be added to allow a variety of articles for interested editors to contribute to.
• List main contributors to contact them to see if they want to further contribute to bringing the article up to GA.
• Move articles up and down the list as more progress is made and as supporting editors sign off on it.
