Hoax

Mexican IPs inserting nearly identical hoax claims that Fornfelt (now part of Scott City, Missouri) and Colon, Nebraska were founded as a quarantine camps called Merdeville or Scheissestadt (Shit City, in both cases).

Town history for Fornfelt states that it was actually founded as Edna, named for the founder's daughter.https://www.scottcitymo.org/history.php. Two sources in Colon, Nebraska state that it was named for Colon, Michigan. There is no mention of a history as a quarantine camp for either.
