Claire Ighodaro

Claire Ighodaro CBE ___ She was the first woman president of CIMA (the Chartered Institute of Management Accountants) in 2003.[1] [2]Claire is presently Non-Executive Director of Flood Re, XL Catlin Insurance Company UK Limited, and the Pennon Group PLC.[3][4] She received the CBE title for services in business from Her Majesty the Queen in 2008.[5]

Early Career

Claire Ighodaro started her career at Otis Elevators in London in 1979.[1] In 1984, she moved to BT to work as a Management and Development Accountant. She was subsequently promoted at BT in 1988 to Senior Project Manager, where she led the development of "one of the first handheld job-reporting systems for field engineers."[1]

In 2007, Claire Ighodaro CEO was ranked 5th in the New Nation’s power list of 100 leading black role models..[5] In 2008, she was awarded a CBE for services in business. [5] In 2015, Ighodaro was granted a "Doctor of the University" from Open University.
