These attendance numbers look really inflated. I'm only finding 25,000 attended for the linked source. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 208.103.118.74 (talk) 17:10, 31 March 2017 (UTC)[reply]
The elephant in the room. Vidcon is nearly exclusively panels like 'women in gaming', and other social justice type topics. It appears that a significant focus is put on using the conference to perpetuate political messages, rather than entertainment related materials. Also this year featured judgmental panel members (inc. Anita Sarkeesian) abusing their audience members calling them 'shitheads' and 'human garbage' during her women in gaming panel. That was the most notable event of the 2017 Vidcon period. I'm hesitant to add this material as my sole purpose on returning to Wikipedia is to examine and call out / expose systemic behaviour of political zealots pushing political agendas rather than facts on here, but naturally given this is my pet bugbear seeing political zealots hijacking YouTube meet ups for their political agenda is equally frustrating. VidCon is heavily biased by protecting bully and naming/shaming from his panel member! Unheard of!
@Agendabender @Emir of Wikipedia I would like to support this suggestion. Could this section be entitled Known Controversies though? It would be useful so people could further research and decide on whether they wish to attend themselves. Most complete source/reference would be: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-Vyvv7P6Ldo Olijones (talk) 05:55, 14 October 2017 (UTC)[reply]
