Confusion/Synthesis?[edit]

In the first fly-by in preparing to review article for the DYK cited above, some questions arose:

The term was introduced for the social phenomenon in the US, so yeah, it applies to the US only. Some people might use it for Canada, Europe, etc., but the term by Gans is for the US.
The term White Anglo Saxon Protestant is used in the introduction, while the term European American is used in the Overview section. They are different and in contradiction to each other as presented. What you mean?
A claim is made with regard to language preceding the list of self-identified ethic groups in the USA. Can there be a an in-line citation added? An inline citation for what? --Երևանցի talk 19:49, 17 July 2013 (UTC)Reply[reply]

I flagged it with a globalize because although the term may have developed in America, it is clearly a more widespread phenomenon and examples can be found over the world although not necessarily referred to with the same name in the literature.
