With all due respect to the deceased, is this notable for reasons beyond the tornado hit? --Christopherlin (talk) 03:32, 13 June 2008 (UTC)
Would it be ok to add an external link to the Boy Scouts of America Disaster Relief Fund? --Mjrmtg (talk) 21:12, 14 June 2008 (UTC)
I'm putting the "Absolutely not" quote by Roitstein back in the article this time with support. My understanding is that Roitsteins comments as well as apprent his lack of support for building tornado shelters at Scout camps is part of the controversy. I know that this has nothing to do with the article but I just want to say that those guys did a great job. I am a Boy Scout in Texas and just want to express my congratulations to the other boys up there that had to act fast and look after each other, and my condolances to the families of the boys that didn't make it. I think that Boy Scout training is underrated sometimes but it is situations like this one where it is really valuable. Also, I will have to find a link but I believe one of the boys was quoted in saying that it was better that it happened to Scouts rather than somebody else. "A Scout is Brave." I'm sure there'll be heroism awards coming out of this. When they're actually awarded, we need to add them and please let me know. I plan to make this a selected article on Portal:Scouting at that time. — Rlevse • Talk • 11:29, 29 June 2008 (UTC)
