James Michael Neese (born October 22, 1969) is an American politician serving as a member of the South Carolina House of Representatives from the 44th district since 2023.[1] A member of the Republican Party, his district contains northernmost Lancaster County, representing suburbs of the Charlotte metropolitan area.[2] He was first elected in the 2022 election, defeating Democratic nominee Katie Crosby.[3] He previously ran for the South Carolina Senate in 2020, losing the Republican primary for the 16th district.[4] Concurrent with his legislative career, Neese also serves as the president and CEO of the Greater Indian Land Chamber of Commerce.[5]
