Kailahun

Kailahun is the capital and largest city of Kailahun District, in the Eastern Province of Sierra Leone. The city has a population of 88,658 (2004 census). Kailahun is the third largest city in the Eastern Province, after Kenema, and Koidu Town. The city lies just 69 kilometers (42 miles) to Kenema.

Ethnicity

Media

The local radio station in Kailahun is 101.5 FM. The Sierra Leone Broadcasting Service(SLBS) televesion and radio station, are on the air in Kailahun. BBC World Service, and several other international TV stations are on the air in the city, via satelite.

Sport

Like the rest of the country, football is by far the most popular sport in the city. The city has several clubs in the lower divions of the Sierra Leone football league.
