Jean-Philippe Vassal (born February 22, 1954) is a French architect. He won the 2021 Pritzker Prize with his partner Anne Lacaton.[1][2][3]
Vassal was born 1954 in Casablanca, Morocco.[4] He graduated from the school of architecture of Bordeaux in 1980.[5] After graduating, he spent five years in Niger as an architect and town planner.[4] Vassal spent five years in Niger as an architect and town planner.He is an architect and principal of the Paris-based Lacaton & Vassal Architectes, which he co-founded with Anne Lacaton in Bordeaux in 1987.[4]
