Jamie Thompson Dawson (July 9, 1922 – May 30, 2009),[1][2] commonly mis-known as "Jim" or "Jimmy" Dawson,[3][4] was an American professional basketball player.[3] He played in the National Basketball League for the Sheboygan Red Skins in 10 games during the 1946–47 season.[3]
Dawson had played collegiately at Texas A&M University between 1942 and 1946.[1] As a senior in 1945–46 he led the Aggies in scoring at 17.0 points per game and was named an all-Southwest Conference player.[5] After his brief professional career, Dawson moved to Longview, Texas in 1951 and established the Fredonia Animal Hospital where he served as a veterinarian until 1976.[1]
