Evelyn Lozada is an American television personality. She is one of the six main cast members in the VH1 reality series Basketball Wives.

Career

Lozada once worked as a secretary to an entertainment attorney. She co-owns Dulce, a shoe boutique located in Coral Gables, Florida.[1]

Lozada starred in the reality series Basketball Wives,[2] which follows some of the wives, ex-wives, and girlfriends of professional basketball players.

She was the guest star on the premier episode of OWN network's Iyanla: Fix My Life.[2]

Personal life

Lozada was born in Brooklyn, raised in the Bronx, and moved to Miami in 2007. She is of Puerto Rican ancestry and was raised by her mother.[3] She has a daughter, Shaneice.

Lozada was previously engaged to NBA star Antoine Walker. The two had a ten-year relationship.[4][5]

On July 4, 2012, she married NFL star Chad Johnson in Saint Martin, whom she had been courting and whose courtship was shown on Basketball Wives.[6] Following an incident of alleged domestic violence, Lozada filed for divorce on August 14, 2012 claiming that her marriage was “irretrievably broken.”[7] The divorce was finalized on September 19, 2012.[8]

In September 2012, Lozada appeared on the television show Iyanla: Fix My Life where she discussed her personal life and sought emotional healing with Iyanla Vanzant. [2]
