Talbot originally planned to self-publish Sixteen Souls, her first book, but three months before her intended publication date, Scholastic made her an offer for the publishing rights to the book and a sequel.^[3] The book was later published on October 13th, 2022. The sequel, Twelve Bones, was published on October 12th, 2023.
